I’ll confess. I’m one of those people.
Oftentimes, I’ll stand in the grocery store aisle for more than 20 minutes just to compare nutrition labels across various brands of the same product.
I find myself studying the included ingredients, serving sizes, and other nutritional information to find the healthiest option with the lowest carb count.
Some days, I even get out my phone calculator!
In this week’s episode of Diet Doctor Explores, I’ll walk you through how to approach reading nutrition labels. We’ll use tomato sauce as an example — and I’ll show you what I learn from comparing two cans from different brands.
While you might think two types of tomato sauce would offer the same nutritional value, you’d be surprised at how much they can differ.
Keeping this example in mind, you’ll be able to head out to the supermarket and decipher which food items will best suit your low-carb or keto diet. Soon, you’ll be a master at reading nutrition labels — and won’t be easily fooled by any sort of misleading packaging.
