Since I get name checked. The idea of throwing away Jaffa Cakes actually can stop you from buying them in the first place. Thus is cost-efficient. For example, I delight in seeing a 3 pack, rather than a 12 pack as I can justify purchase.
The kid thing I get, I just buy kids snacks I am not so fond of, but they like. However, of course every now and then I eat kid snacks. They can also be kept down in quantity in cupboards.
