What causes dark circles under eyes?
There are a number of factors that can contribute to the appearance of dark circles- and they aren’t all related to your lifestyle and sleeping patterns.
Certain genetic factors can exacerbate eye puffiness and dark circles. Your genetic predisposition to pigmentation, melanin disposition and collagen production can often mean the dark circles are hereditary.
Other causes, aside from poor sleeping habits, can include dehydration, allergies, skin ageing, excessive sun exposure and even diet or pregnancy related fluid retention.
In some cases, persistent dark circles may also be caused by more serious medical conditions such as anaemia.
How to get rid of dark circles under eyes
There are a few different ways to hide and even remove dark under eye circles.
