Making a sugar-free glazed ham might seem difficult, but this is actually a very simple recipe to make. It doesn’t take very much prep time and can be cooked in just an hour before dinnertime.

Because this ham dish is also sweet, it is very kid-friendly and enjoyed by most people. I love to make this recipe when I am having guests over for Thanksgiving dinner since I know it will be a total crowd pleaser!

It also makes for delicious leftovers and can easily be chopped up and added to other dishes throughout the week. There are so many great reasons to try this keto glazed ham recipe.

Ingredients Needed For Keto Glazed Ham

This sugar-free glazed ham is quick to make in a pinch and requires very few ingredients but yields a delicious result. Here’s what you need:

Cooked Ham

For this recipe, you will need to use a fully cooked ham that is still intact. You do not want pre-sliced!

Precooked ham is very easy to find, just make sure that it is plain and not already glazed.

Minced garlic adds a delicious garlicky note to this sugar-free glazed ham recipe. It helps add savoriness amongst the sweet glaze.

Butter is a delicious addition to our ham’s glaze as it adds fat, moisture, and some buttery goodness. It also helps to thin out the glaze a bit and further enhance the flavor of the garlic.

Sugar-Free Honey

Sugar-free honey is going to give this glaze a delicious sweetness. You can use whatever brand that you prefer. If you can’t get your hands on any honey, you can use sugar-free maple syrup instead.

Swerve Brown Sugar Substitute

Swerve brown sweetener will give this dish the traditional flavor that you’d expect in a glazed ham. You do not want to replace this ingredient with a plain sugar substitute as you want the caramelized richness a brown sugar substitute brings to the recipe.

Cinnamon is great for both sweet and savory dishes and really brings this ham to life. It is warming, fragrant, and adds just a touch of spice to the cooked ham!

Cloves also add a hint of spice and warmth, which makes the flavors of this dish more interesting.

How To Cook Low-Carb Glazed Ham

This ham recipe is very simple, and there is very little hands-on time needed. For the full list of instructions and details, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post. First, here is a quick overview.

Prepare The Ham

Preheat your oven to 350F and put the precooked ham in a 9×9 inch baking dish. Make sure the dish is big enough for your ham to cook without any glaze boiling over the sides.

Make The Glaze

You’ll make the glaze by adding the butter to a pan to melt, then adding the freshly minced garlic. Lightly saute the garlic for 30 seconds. Next, add in the rest of your ingredients (minus the ham, of course).

Bring everything to a boil for two minutes, then remove it from the heat.

Bake Your Ham

Pour half of the glaze over the ham and put it in the oven to bake for 20 minutes. Remove the ham and baste it with the remaining glaze that is thickened slightly. Put it back in the oven for another 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, remove the ham from the oven and slice it. Serve hot and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions About Sugar-Free Glazed Ham

Before we get to the recipe and instructions, here are a few frequently asked questions about keto glazed ham.

Can I make this keto glazed ham in the crockpot?

Yes, you can easily transform this into a crockpot-friendly recipe.

The medium setting of a crockpot should be good, and you can cook the ham for the same amount of time. Just don’t forget to baste it halfway through cooking with the rest of the glaze. This helps to keep it from drying out.

Can I use this recipe with other meats?

If you want to try to glaze other kinds of meat, this recipe should still work very well! Not everyone is a fan of ham, so this recipe could go well with other cuts of meat.

If you do choose to try something in place of ham, you’ll want to keep in mind that certain meats may need to cook longer or for a shorter amount of time.

How long does it last?

This low-carb glazed ham should last for 3 to 4 days in the fridge if kept covered. It makes great leftovers and is delicious when added to other meals.

You could also freeze it for 1 to 2 months to enjoy at a later date.
