I’m so excited to share today’s recipe. My no bake chocolate donuts will satisfy your sweet tooth, give you an energy boost, and nourish your body at the same time. My kind of treat!
Oh and they’re easy to make and only require a few ingredients (6 to be exact).
Who’s in?!

The ONLY problem is that you might be tempted to eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner just as I was after making the first batch lol. If you’re anything like me, either share them with your friends or hide them at the back of the fridge.
Let’s talk about protein…
I’ve used Good Life Juice collagen protein in these chocolate donuts. Collagen is a very special protein and one that I’ve been a fan of for the past 6 years when it hit the market (perhaps that’s why people always think I’m younger than I am, haha).
Collagen is the most abundant form of protein in our bodies but we stop producing it in our early 30s so the only way to continue to receive the benefits of collagen is to consume it on a regular basis.

What is collagen good for?
- It strengthens hair, teeth and nails
- Helps hydrate the skin
- Boosts metabolism and aids in weight loss
- Reduces inflammation in the body
- Helps with joint pain
- Heals the digestive system (especially great if you suffer from gas, bloating, constipation, IBS, diarrhea, acid reflux)
- Reduces cellulite and stretch marks
I like to call it the “Beauty Protein”
Good Life Juice collagen is 100% pure and comes from Canadian wild caught cod. I really like that it’s flavourless and unsweetened.

The great thing about collagen is that you can drink it in water, tea, or smoothies (it easily dissolves), or you can make treats or baked goods with it.
I think we may as well call these, healing chocolate donuts!
They’re filled with nourishing ingredients like:
Almond butter for a great natural source of protein and healthy fat, collagen, cacao powder for an energy boost and minerals, coconut flour which is loaded with fiber, maple syrup for sweetness, minerals, and energy, and coconut oil for healthy fat.
I’ve also tried them with peanut butter in place of the almond butter and WOAH, that’s another amazing version if you’re a PB lover like I am.

Chocolate Protein Donuts
Gluten Free/Dairy Free/Refined Sugar Free
Makes 5 large donuts
- 1/2 cup runny almond butter
- 1/3 cup collagen protein
- 3 1/2 tablespoons cacao powder
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon coconut flour
Add all ingredients to a bowl (sift in the cacao powder if lumpy) and stir everything together until well combined. The mixture will start to stiffen. Press into large silicone muffin pans and place into the freezer for at least 1 hour. Remove from the molds and eat as-is OR dip into chocolate as I did.
Chocolate (optional but is a great addition)
- 1 heaping cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Slowly melt the chocolate and oil in a heat proof bowl set over a pot of hot water on low heat on the stove. Dip each donut into the chocolate and use a fork to transfer it to a parchment paper lined tray. Sprinkle with nuts or coconut quickly before it starts to harden. Store in the fridge.
Pink Drizzle
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut butter
- Pink pitaya or beet powder for colour
Whisk the coconut butter with enough powder to achieve desired shade of pink. Drizzle over the hardened chocolate. Pop into the fridge for a few minutes to firm up.
The donuts will keep for 7 days in the fridge.
I hope you enjoy the donuts as much as I do!
